Gilman Teaser 2
My friend Julie (julieeball) and I went to Gilman today. Gilman is a 'modern' ghost town. It's a mining town that was abandoned in the 1980's. What an amazing place!!!!
This was our last view of the town from the road. Pretty impressive!! The town consists of houses, employee housing (like hotels), stores, offices (complete with an old mimeograph machine), equipment storage buildings, and down at the bottom, of the hill are all the mine buildings and entrance to the mine.
This is about the place where we started our 40 minute hike into the town. There's really not a path and you absolutely do not want to park by the main entrance of the town!! This is one of the greatest abandoned places I've been!!
